Parte PARATISSIMA 2017

Torino è una città che ha più di un legame con la nostra Sicilia. Non solo per la grande migrazione di siciliani che ne ha cambiato il volto nel secondo dopoguerra ma soprattutto per l'impronta eterna lasciata dall'architetto del barocco, Filippo Juvarra (1679-1736). Nato a Messina, giovane sacerdote fu mandato a studiare a Roma dove si appassionò di architettura. Geniale autodidatta, vinse un concorso indetto dall'Accademia di San Luca che lo lanciò nel mondo dei progetti di un'Italia in gran fermento. Lo volle la corte Sabauda a Torino, dove divenne "primo architetto civile" del regno progettando numerose costruzioni tra cui la bellissima Basilica di Superga. Culla dell'arte innovativa fin dai tempi di Juvarra, Torino non ha mai smesso di lanciare nuovi talenti. Ed è per questo che qui è nata PARATISSIMA - la vetrina internazionale dei talenti emergenti .

La XIII edizione, quest'anno, è dedicata alla "superstizione" e per l'occasione ha cambiato sede passando a Caserma La Marmora dove avranno luogo gli eventi dal 1 al 5 novembre 2017. Costruita nel 1887-1888 con il nome di Caserma Dogali e intitolata, poi, ad Alessandro La Marmora, la caserma è composta da 8 corpi di fabbrica realizzati intorno ad un'ampia corte centrale. E ad ogni corpo di fabbrica corrisponde una delle 8 sezioni di Paratissima 2017 per ospitare 536 creativi emergenti.

Le 8 sezioni sono dedicate a Fashion, Design, Nophoto, Video, G@P, Crafters & Makers, Kids, Learning by Doing e ruoteranno al centro della piazza d'arme dove sarà allestito il monumentale progetto "Massive Attack - Outdoor Exhibition". Ospiti di quest'anno, tra le 7 mostre curate da 12 giovani allievi  N.I.C.E. (New Independent Curatorial Experience), saranno: il pittore Daniele Galliano, con una performance di live painting accompagnato dal chitarrista Giovanni Portaluppi e lo scultore Paolo Grassino che guiderà un workshop di progettazione per la realizzazione di un'opera di grandi dimensioni.

I premi in palio quest'anno sono 9: "Paratissima Talent Prize" , "Best 15 award" ,"Premio G@P Project",  "Premio G@P Under 35", "Premio Maurizio Collino" il "Premio Mauto", il "Premio Nice" il "Premio Arcidiocesi di Vercelli" e il "Premio Interni Bonetti". Turin is a city that has more than one connection with our Sicily. Not only because of the great migration of Sicilians that changed its face after the Second World War but above all thanks to the eternal imprint left by the Baroque architect Filippo Juvarra (1679-1736). Born in Messina, this young priest was sent to study in Rome where he became very interested in architecture. Self-taught genius, he won an open competition from the Academy of San Luca that opened to him the world of projects in Italy . The Savoy court wanted him in Turin, where he became the "first civilian architect" of the kingdom, designing numerous buildings including the beautiful Superga Basilica. Cradle of innovative art since Juvarra's time, Turin has never stopped casting new talents. And that's why PARATISSIMA was born here - an international exhibition of emerging talents.

This year's 13th edition is dedicated to "superstition" and for the occasion it has changed its place to Caserma La Marmora where events will take place from 1 to 5 November 2017. Built in 1887-1888 under the name Caserma Dogali and then named after Alessandro La Marmora, the barrack consists of eight factory buildings built around a large central courtyard, la piazza d'arme. And each factory body matches one of the 8 sections of Paratissima 2017 to accommodate 536 emerging creatives.

The 8 sections are dedicated to Fashion, Design, Nophoto, Video, G @ P, Crafters & Makers, Kids, Learning by Doing and will all around the piazza d'arme where the monumental "Massive Attack - Outdoor Exhibition" project will be set up. Guests of this year, among the 7 exhibitions curated by 12 young students from N.I.C.E. (New Independent Curatorial Experience) will be: the painter Daniele Galliano, with a live painting performance accompanied by guitarist Giovanni Portaluppi, and sculptor Paolo Grassino who will lead a design workshop for the creation of a large opera.
